I was recently interviewed by John Oszajca on the Music Marketing Manifesto Podcast about the business of making and marketing beats online. John is not only a good friend and former bandmate but also the brains behind the Music Marketing Manifesto online course, where he teaches strategies for how to market and promote your music.
John is a trailblazer in digital direct-to-fan “funnel building” strategies (arguably one of the first to do it in the music industry) and his tactics have been embraced by thousands of musicians and fellow music marketing educators. His students have gone on to sell millions of albums and reach number-one billboard chart rankings.
John is also the owner of Tunepipe, which is a website and sales funnel creation platform for musicians. This website is built on Tunepipe, which I actually had a hand in designing many of the templates that are available.
In the podcast, we discuss the beat-selling industry as it pertains to not only hip-hop beat producers but also how musicians from other music genres are profiting by selling instrumentals. We also announce the release of the Beatmaker theme in Tunepipe, which this website is based on, so if you want a beat-selling website like mine, you can just sign up to Tunepipe and fire it up!
